The University of Louisiana at Lafayette plans to prepare its students for possible job opportunities at the proposed SpaceX launch center in Acadiana.
University officials point out that its academic involvement in the space program dates back to the 1960s.
The school already offers courses in fields such as engineering, computer science, and cybersecurity that align with many of the positions SpaceX may need to fill.
Potential jobs also include technicians, business professionals, and supply chain staff.
