Elon Musk's private spaceflight company has announced plans to build a $100 billion campus on the Louisiana coastline
SpaceX says this spaceport will be designed to support thousands of launches annually, with five launch complexes, each with two launch pads.
They claim it will create 3,000 new jobs over the next ten years with promises of annual salaries starting at $92,000
Construction is planned to start next year.
The plans do not sit well with some environmental groups, with the head of the National Wildlife Federation's Gulf Program calling the proposed waiving of protections "irresponsible and dangerous".
