LSU will test its emergency messaging system on Wednesday.
The university tweeted that an e-mail or a text may be received around 10 a.m., and a test message would also be seen on LSU.edu and on the LSU mobile app.
LSU is also asking students, faculty and staff to register their phones to receive emergency texts by going to my.LSU.edu and selecting Personal Preferences and then Emergency Contacts.
Only LSU students and employees are able to register for emergency text messages.
