Nearly 3,000 Homes In 5 Parishes Damaged From Last Month's Severe Weather

The number of reported damaged homes due to last month's severe weather, is continuing to grow.

On Tuesday, state officials said more than 2,700 homes in five parishes were damaged during May's flood and six were destroyed.

According to reports, the primary parishes with major damage include Ascension, Calcasieu, East Baton Rouge, Iberville and Lafayette.

Residents with any damaged property is advised to file a report with the state at damage.la.gov to help survey the damage and increase potential for federal assistance.
