LSU Police are investigating a threat to the Pete Maravich Assembly Center during Skip Bertman's Celebration of Life on Tuesday.

Security teams escorted Gov. Jeff Landry, East Baton Rouge Parish Mayor-President Sid Edwards, and East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff Sid Gautreaux out of the building because of what was believed to be a credible threat on social media.

LSU Police identified the person believed to be responsible and took the suspect into custody.

"Thanks to the LSU Police Department and our law enforcement partners for quickly making an arrest overnight in last night's threat," said LSU System President Dr. Wade Rousse & LSU Chancellor & Executive Vice President Dr. Jim Dalton in a joint statement Wednesday. "Their swift and coordinated response kept our campus community safe, and we thank them for their continued commitment to protecting our LSU family."
