Louisiana's new congressional redistricting map is now state law.
The GOP-led state Senate gave its final approval to the bill on Friday by a vote of 28-10, and Gov. Jeff Landry signed it into law a few hours later.
The House had amended the bill on Thursday, and had then returned it to the Senate for concurrence.
The U.S. Supreme Court recently struck down Louisiana's 6th Congressional District as an unconstitutional race-based gerrymander.
The new map could help the GOP pick up an extra seat in the U.S. House in the midterms.
