U.S. Representative Clay Higgins is no fan of the proposed congressional redistricting map for Louisiana.

Higgins is a Republican who represents the Third District, in the southwestern part of the state.

The proposed map would make changes to District 3 that would affect the representation of Calcasieu, St. Landry, and St. Martin Parishes.

On his Facebook page, Higgins dismissed the proposal as an "insanely bad map," adding that he's "100 percent opposed" to it.

Lawmakers have until Monday to approve a new map.
