The Greater Baton Rouge State Fair may have a new location starting next year.
The event's current location in St. George is going to be the site of a new sports complex.
During Tuesday's BREC meeting, fair leaders proposed moving the event to the former Woody Dumas Golf Course in Baker. The former golf course on Lavey Lane has been unused since 2011.
Fair President Cliff Barton says it's one of the few locations that compares in size to the fair's current site on Airline Highway.
