Mayor Wade Evans of Central is recovering from minor injuries he suffered in a traffic accident on Tuesday evening.
Police responded around 8 p.m. to the crash at Hooper Road and Blackwater Road. Investigators say Mayor Evans was southbound on Blackwater when his vehicle and another one collided.
A second person was also reportedly injured, but that person's name hasn't been released, nor any indication of which vehicle he or she was in.
No word yet on who was at fault.
