The owners of Nottoway Plantation are suing city and parish officials for their response to the fire that destroyed the historic building a year ago.
Last week's lawsuit names the Iberville Parish Council, Parish President Chris Daigle, the city of Plaquemine, and Safe Home Monitoring as defendants.
The lawsuit claims gross negligence, insufficient water pressure, and other factors resulted in the total loss of the mansion and everything in it.
Daigle says the claims made in the suit are untrue and will be fought in court.
