U.S. Representative Julia Letlow and State Treasurer John Fleming are on their way to a runoff in the GOP primary for U.S. Senate.
Letlow was the top vote-getter in Saturday's primary but fell short of 50 percent of the vote. Fleming came in second, and incumbent Senator Bill Cassidy was a close third.
The results mean the two-term incumbent will be out of a job.
President Donald Trump endorsed Letlow.
Jamie Davis and Gary Crockett are advancing to the runoffs in the Democratic primary for U.S. Senate. Nicholas Albares trailed Crockett by fewer than 300 votes to finish in third place.
