Gov. Jeff Landry is defending Louisiana's congressional redistricting efforts.
Landry addressed the matter in an interview on Sunday's CBS news show "60 Minutes."
The U.S. Supreme Court recently ruled that one of the state's two black-majority districts is an unconstitutional race-based gerrymander.
Democrats say the map should be used for this year's midterm elections anyway.
Landry has suspended the current congressional primary until the map can be corrected.
