East Baton Rouge Parish is reporting the state's highest early voter turnout for the upcoming election.

The Secretary of State's Office says more than 249,000 Louisiana voters have already cast ballots in the May 16th contest. That result is up three percent from the 2024 presidential primary.

The redistricting debate over Louisiana's congressional maps is reportedly driving turnout.

East Baton Rouge Parish tops the state with more than 31,500 early voters.
