SpaceX Rumored To Be Acquiring Large Parcel Of Land Near Pecan Island

Vermilion Parish officials aren't confirming rumors of a possible SpaceX land acquisition near Pecan Island.

Some locals believe Elon Musk's commercial space company may be making a large purchase of marshland south of Highway 82.

Pecan Island has only about 100 permanent residents, but thousands of people visit the area during hunting season.

Residents say hunting, fishing, crabbing, and shrimping could be adversely affected if some sort of large-scale development takes place in the area.
