Baton Rouge Police say five suspects are in custody following a shooting Thursday afternoon inside the Mall of Louisiana.
"This is an ongoing investigation and we're still looking for more people that may be involved," said Baton Rouge Police Chief TJ Morse.
Morse also updated the number of those injured in the incident to six, down from initial reports of ten victims. Of those six, one person has died.
Shots rang out after an argument between two groups of people in the mall's food court area shortly before 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
East Baton Rouge Parish Mayor-President Sid Edwards praised the quick work in apprehending the suspects.
"This is what response time is supposed to look like. These are champions and lives were actually saved from this," said Edwards. "If you're going to act like this in Baton Rouge, and you're going to do these things, you're going to be caught."
As the investigation continues, anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 344-STOP (7867).
