The state commissioner of elections says Louisiana has a shortage of election workers for the spring election cycle.

Sherri Wharton Hadskey, commissioner of elections for the Secretary of State's Office, says precincts statewide are short-handed.

Congressional elections are coming up on May 16th and June 27th, and the state needs election workers now.

These are paid positions, not volunteer gigs. Online training is required beforehand.

More information is available on the Secretary of State's website.
