Construction is underway on a highway project intended to improve pedestrian safety on Florida Boulevard.
City and state leaders attended a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday for Segment 2 of the Florida Boulevard Corridor Enhancement Project.
The corridor between North 22nd Street and Airline Highway will receive pavement rehab, new sidewalks and paths, and upgrades to signals, drainage, and lighting.
Officials say the project will cost more than $60 million, but haven't provided a timeline for completion.
