The Baton Rouge City Constable's Office is calling on city leaders to include them in a major pay raise for the BRPD and EMS workers.

The Metro Council proposed a 15 percent pay hike at their meeting on Wednesday. The proposal is part of Mayor-President Sid Edwards's effort to boost recruitment and retention.

Constable Terrica Williams and her officers were at the meeting and asking to be included. Williams says their duties and training are equivalent to those of police officers.
