Remains Identified As Missing Ponchatoula Man, Investigation Underway

Authorities are identifying human remains that were found six months ago.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office says the remains are confirmed to be 43-year-old James Wood, who was reported missing from Ponchatoula.

His death is being investigated as a homicide due to evidence of a gunshot wound among the remains.

Wood was last seen alive in June of 2025.
