An oil spill is now contained after a hose failure at the state's Offshore Oil Port.
Gov. Jeff Landry says the failure caused 750 barrels of crude oil to be released last week.
He said more than 80 percent of the spilled oil has been recovered, with cleanup crews deploying more than 5,000 feet of containment boom.
The governor's office said 17 birds have been impacted as a result.
