Shintech is announcing a more than $3 billion upgrade to its existing facility in Iberville Parish.
The expansion is expected to create more than 800 jobs in the parish and generate millions in tax revenue.
Iberville Parish President Chris Daigle says schools, the sheriff's department, and local infrastructure will benefit from property taxes and sales taxes from the expansion.
Shintech is a major PVC producer that first entered Louisiana in 2000. Since that time, the company has invested about $9 billion in the state.
