Four black Republicans are seeking their party's nomination to challenge U.S. Representative Cleo Fields in November.

Monique Appeaning is a former assistant chief administrative officer in East Baton Rouge Parish. Larry Davis is a former library board member who worked to get sexually graphic books out of the children's section.

Community activist Chris Johnson and Rev. Peter Williams are also running in the May GOP primary.

Fields faces no challenge in the Democratic primary, so he'll take on the GOP nominee in November.
