A Louisiana lawmaker has filed a bill to name a proposed new Mississippi River bridge in the Baton Rouge area after President Trump.
State Rep. Michael Echols of Monroe filed House Bill 221 to name the bridge the President Donald J. Trump Expressway.
The bridge will connect State Highway 1 to State Highway 30 south of the two existing spans over the Mississippi in the capital city.
The Republican lawmaker pointed to Trump's visits to Louisiana after the 2016 floods and his support for the state's energy sector.
