Baton Rouge is entering into a 20-year deal with a cruise line that's expected to boost the local economy.
Mayor-President Sid Edwards and American Cruise Lines President and CEO Charles Robertson announced the deal on Thursday.
The agreement will bring about 100 river-ship dockings to the City Dock every year, resulting in a $25 million impact for the region.
The cruise line is expected to bring more than 16,000 passengers to Baton Rouge this year, with passengers who will spend at least $1 million at local businesses.
