The National Weather Service is confirming that a tornado touched down in Tangipahoa Parish early Sunday morning.
The agency says the twister was an EF-1, with estimated maximum winds around 95 mph.
The tornado touched down five miles west-southwest of Folsom and stayed on the ground for more than eight miles. It damaged a roof, uprooted trees, and damaged branches in a path that was up to 75 yards wide.
No injuries were reported.
