East Baton Rouge Parish is eliminating dozens of city-parish jobs as part of a planned workforce reduction.

A list of positions to be eliminated numbered 55 last month, but on Wednesday, city-parish officials said the number had been reduced to 46.

The layoffs include attorneys, a deputy clerk of the city court, a budget analyst, an environmental specialist, and custodians.

Assistant Chief Administrative Officer William Daniel says department heads put together the list at the request of Mayor-President Sid Edwards.
