Significant changes are on the way for Medicaid and SNAP programs in Louisiana.
State health officials discussed the changes on Wednesday during the annual Louisiana Department of Health shareholder meeting.
Starting next January 1st, working-age adult Medicaid recipients will be required to work, go to school, train, volunteer, or a combination of these, for 80 hours a month.
As of February 18th, SNAP benefits will no longer be allowed for the purchase of soft drinks, candy, or junk food.
