While parts of central and north Louisiana are bracing for substantial impacts from freezing rain and ice over the weekend, residents of southeast Louisiana continue to watch the forecast for updates.
As of Wednesday, there was greater confidence for freezing rain and ice for areas northwest of Baton Rouge. A mainly cold rain is expected for areas as you get closer to the coast.
The extremely cold air will also bring a threat of hard freezes next week with overnight lows in the 20s.
