Gov. Jeff Landry says the state's version of DOGE has saved Louisiana and its taxpayers about $1 billion.

Landry created the state's Fiscal Responsibility Program with an executive order in December 2024.

A DOGE spokesperson announced on Thursday a savings of over $999 million across 17 departments in the governor's cabinet, with no reduction in services.

Landry says people found to be ineligible for Medicaid and SNAP were removed from the programs.
