A couple of Republican U.S. senators want Louisiana service industry workers to know how they'll benefit from the "no tax on tips" deduction.
Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana invited Senate Majority Leader John Thune of South Dakota to visit Baton Rouge on Thursday.
In a private event at Phil's Oyster Bar on Perkins Road, both senators spoke to workers affected by the change, which was part of last year's One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
Based on their income, workers can deduct up to $25,000 in tips for their 2025 tax returns.
