Gov. Jeff Landry has signed a proclamation officially designating January as Human Trafficking Prevention Month.
Louisiana will participate in National Wear Blue Day, also known as Human Trafficking Awareness Day, on Sunday, January 11. Residents are encouraged to wear blue in solidarity and raise awareness.
The Governor's Office staff will wear blue on Monday, January 12.
The state capitol and the Governor's Mansion will be lit blue as a symbol of the state's dedication to ending human trafficking.
