Louisiana is in line to receive more than $208 million to improve rural health care in the state

The money is part of the $50 billion Rural Health Transformation Program that's in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

Louisiana's award amount is one of the highest in the nation, and one of the top three in the Southeast.

More than a million Louisiana residents live in rural parishes, where they face limited economic opportunities and higher unemployment.

The money will go toward recruiting and retaining health care workers, upgrading equipment, and improving cyber security.
