Two Girls Injured After Being Thrown From Ferris Wheel In New Roads

The State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating an accident that injured two girls at the New Roads Harvest Festival on Saturday.

The girls are still in the hospital after being thrown off a Ferris wheel They were 20 or 25 feet off the ground when they fell from the ride.

One girl reportedly suffered broken bones, and the other has a possible brain bleed. They both spent the night in intensive care.

The Ferris wheel and a nearby slide were shut down while the festival continued.
