Louisiana Democrats want to see an investigation of what the party says are "wrongful accusations" against a former LSU football player.
Kyren Lacy was accused of causing a deadly traffic accident last year.
The state Democratic Party is calling for Attorney General Liz Murrill to investigate the claims against Lacy.
The party also wants the state legislature to pass a law during next year's legislative session that would aim to prevent false reporting by police, penalizing officers or agencies that deliberately misrepresent evidence.
