Pollsters are predicting a low voter turnout in Baton Rouge's off-cycle election.
Early voting got underway on Saturday.
Four Democrats are in the running for a vacant seat at the 19th Judicial District Court. Name recognition is expected to play a major part amid the anticipated low turnout.
If none of the candidates secures more than 50 percent of the vote, a runoff election will be scheduled for November 15th.
Residents will also vote on a tax renewal for the Downtown Development District, intended to boost the local economy.
