Some work is finally being done at the construction site of the planned Buc-ee's location in Lafayette.
Dirt work and grading are underway at the site on I-10 at Louisiana Avenue.
The store was originally expected to open next year, but design delays and bad weather pushed it back to 2028.
The Lafayette Economic Development Authority says the 74,000 sq. ft. travel center will feature about 120 gas pumps.
The new store is expected to create 150 jobs with starting pay of $17 an hour.
