The West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of an inmate in the parish jail on Sunday morning.
Officials say Nicholas Henderson's cellmate alerted deputies around 11 a.m. that he was unresponsive. Despite life-saving efforts, Henderson was pronounced dead at the scene.
The parish coroner will determine his cause of death.
Henderson had recently been moved to an isolation cell after a fight with another inmate, as a result of which he was charged with second-degree battery.
