Two public defenders and an East Baton Rouge prosecutor are charged with contempt of court for their behavior in a recent murder trial.

District Judge Louise Hines said on Tuesday that defense attorneys La'Deisha Woods and Stephen Sterling had interrupted the proceedings and argued with the judge.

Hines said Assistant District Attorney Morgan Johnson had inappropriately told jurors about certain DNA evidence during her closing arguments.

Potential punishments for the attorneys will be decided at a later time.
