The USS Kidd Museum is preparing for its annual fundraising event next month.
The Roarin' on the River Gala is scheduled for September 11 at White Oak Estate and Gardens. All proceeds from ticket sales will go to the museum.
The Kidd is still undergoing repairs in Houma, and the museum needs help to cover the costs.
Museum officials say they hope to welcome the ship back to Baton Rouge at the start of next year.
