Applications are open for the Louisiana Blue Tarp Program.
The grant program with the Louisiana Housing Corporation helps low-income families and homeowners with roof repairs.
A spokesman says they've used state and federal funds to repair or replace more than 230 roofs over the past three years. He says the program involves less red tape and can get the job done on a timely basis.
Qualifying homeowners can now apply in Ascension, East Baton Rouge, Iberville, Pointe Coupee, and West Feliciana Parishes.
The deadline for applications is 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 18.
