The man convicted of murdering Baton Rouge civil rights leader Sadie Roberts-Joseph in 2019 will be sentenced on August 7.
A jury found Ronn Bell guilty of second-degree murder on Saturday.
Bell was a tenant of the victim, and investigators believe he killed her after falling behind on his rent.
Roberts-Joseph was the founder of the Baton Rouge African American Museum.
Bell's conviction of second-degree murder results in a mandatory life sentence.
