A Livingston Parish deputy faces charges following his arrest on a boat earlier this year.

Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries agents stopped Major Paul Brignac on the Amite River in March and charged him with operating a vessel while intoxicated. He received a citation instead of being booked into jail.

Brignac self-reported the arrest and still works at the sheriff's office, where he's been for 20 years.

Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard says any disciplinary action Brignac faces will be based on what happens in court.
