Voters in St. George will cast ballots in Saturday's runoff election to fill the last two seats on the first city council.
Republican Patty Cook and Independent David Madaffari are contending for the District 4 seat, while Republican Jim Talbot and Democrat Shaunn Wyche are in the running for one of the two at-large positions.
The new council of Louisiana's newest city is likely to discuss the creation of a St. George school district, apart from the East Baton Rouge Parish School System.
