Plans are afoot to repackage the failed Amendment Two from last month's election and run it past the voters again.

State Representatives Julie Emerson and Jack McFarland gave details on Monday at the Baton Rouge Press Club.

The amendment's plan to consolidate the Budget Stabilization Fund and the Revenue Stabilization Fund would provide lawmakers more flexibility with the budget.

The failure of the amendment left lawmakers with a $198 million budget gap they'll have close in order to avoid pay cuts for teachers.
