The Saints are moving on from a veteran offensive playmaker.
New Orleans is releasing running back Jamaal Williams following two seasons with the team, the first major move made by the Saints as they look to clear at least $40 million in order to become salary cap compliant prior to the start of the new league year on March 12.
The 29-year-old was set to enter the third season of a three-year deal that he signed with the team in 2023.
He rushed for 470 yards and two touchdowns in 27 games with New Orleans.
