Insurance Commissioner Tim Temple says property insurance reform is on the table in the next state legislative session in April.

Temple says a package of bills in draft form are intended to bring more insurance companies to Louisiana so as to give consumers more choice.

He says he'll ask for part of the state property tax revenues to fund the state's fortified roof program.

So far, 2,000 roofs have been fortified with funding through a state grant program. Another 5,000 have been independently funded.
