Louisiana residents are now paying a ten-percent sales tax on subscriptions to streaming services and TV providers.

The new tax went into effect on January 1. State legislators passed it in a special session in November as part of Governor Jeff Landry's tax overhaul plan.

The tax amount will appear on customers' bills under the "Taxes, Fees and Surcharges" section.
