State officials say performance scores at Louisiana public schools improved for the third year in a row.
Performance scores for all parishes were released on Wednesday.
Statewide, students scored 80 on a 150-point scale. That's enough to bump Louisiana from 46th in the nation to 40th in education.
Louisiana State Superintendent of Education Dr. Cade Brumley says Gov. Jeff Landry, the legislature, the state school board, and the teachers are responsible for the continued improvement.
