The Louisiana House will vote this afternoon on an amended tax bill that proposes sales taxes on fewer services than originally planned.
State Representative Neil Riser, the author of House Bill 9, says new taxes on more than 40 services have been reduced to just 19.
That reduces an estimated $500 million in new tax revenue to about $130 million, far short of covering the projected $1 billion cost of Governor Jeff Landry's income tax cuts.
Riser says he expects further amendments if his bill is passed on to the Senate.
