Former LSU star Paul Skenes of the Pittsburgh Pirates is the 2024 National League Rookie of the Year.
The Baseball Writers' Association of America announced their selection on Monday.
Skenes is the second Rookie of the Year in LSU history. The first was shortstop Alvin Dark of the Boston Braves in 1948.
Skenes made his MLB debut on May 11th, and went on to be the starting pitcher for the National League in the All-Star Game. He's only the fifth rookie starter on the mound in the history of the Midsummer Classic.
